New vent server, and other news!

This site and the community it serves has been dormant too long, time to shake things up a bit.

Late last week Cluanar decided to restart GotV's Ventrilo server, so those of you who prefer that service may now join vent.gamersvault.net, port 3008. There are channels for Diablo, LOTRO, SWTOR, and of course GW2. Cluanar told me that he would like to see the server get used, so I've got the green light to invite FaDe members who would like to visit. The password is "gvrocks" and I'm on most evenings if you need any help. I'd like to see GotV mingling more with its sister guild.

Is this an indication of more GotV activity to come? We've been very dormant for months, though I've been careful to keep an eye on our GW2 guild and keep the influence coming in. Work and real life is keeping a lot of us busy, but contrary to popular belief the Vault is not dead. Merely sleeping, you know, like the GW2 dragons...

And speaking of that game, ArenaNet has kept things quite lively with the Living World content. Winding down is Flame and Frost, where the Charr and Norn lands have been menaced by the Molten Alliance, a somewhat inexplicable blend of Flame Legion and Dredge. They have been driven back but have taken their toll on many refugees from both regions, who are now being relocated to a tropical paradise.

So, yes, starting tomorrow, the Living Story is going troppo. As someone who feels this game has too many large, beautifully crafted areas where absolutely nothing happens, I'm all for it.
